THERAPY PRACTICE BASED OUT OF CALIFORNIA
HEALING THROUGH CONNECTION
Hello and Welcome.
Many people arrive here feeling caught between who they’ve been and who they’re longing to become. Maybe you’ve learned to push through your pain just to get through the day, yet inside you feel anxious, disconnected, or unsure of your place in the world.
In our work together, we gently explore the stories, emotions, and patterns beneath the surface so you can reconnect with meaning, relationships, and your own body’s wisdom. If you’re ready to feel more grounded, present, and truly yourself, I’m here to help.
The most powerful person in the room is the one who is most regulated. Let's build new narratives around our maladaptive and adaptive thoughts and behaviors, increase mindfulness practices, and gain a deeper understanding and compassion for our nervous systems.
EMDR Therapy
What Is It?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy approach that helps people heal from distressing memories and experiences that continue to affect how they feel, think, and respond in the present. It helps the brain reprocess difficult memories so they become less emotionally overwhelming and more integrated into a person’s life story.
How Does It Work?
During EMDR, a therapist guides the client to briefly focus on a difficult memory while simultaneously engaging in bilateral stimulation such as side-to-side eye movements, tapping, or sounds. This process helps the brain reprocess the memory so it becomes less charged and allows new, healthier beliefs and emotions to take its place.
Benefits
Helps reduce the emotional intensity of painful or traumatic memories
Can shift negative beliefs (e.g., “I’m not safe” or “I’m not good enough”) into more adaptive ones
Often works faster than traditional talk therapy for trauma-related symptoms
Supports the brain’s natural ability to heal and integrate difficult experiences
About Me
DAN O’REILLY, AMFT #160196
SUPERVISED BY JAMES A MOORE LMFT #109887
Marriage & Family Therapist, Based in Los Angeles, CA.
I received my Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University and my B.S. in Biological Sciences from Providence College. Before becoming a therapist, I spent over a decade in the film and television industry, worked in sales and marketing for start-ups, and taught middle and high school science. These experiences shaped my understanding of human behavior, creativity under pressure, communication, and the many roles we learn to inhabit throughout our lives.
My education in both psychological and biological functioning allows me to approach therapy through a deeply holistic, mind–body lens. I integrate narrative, existential, attachment-based, mindfulness, and somatic frameworks, helping clients explore their stories while also tuning into the nervous system, patterns of survival, and how the body holds experience.
My style is warm, grounded, and collaborative. I bring curiosity, clarity, and an appreciation for the complexity of being human. Because of my diverse background, I offer a therapeutic experience that blends emotional insight, biological awareness, and real-world understanding—creating a space where clients feel seen in both their inner world and their lived experience.
